Detailed mechanical design of ProView S3 was finished by end of last week. There are 21 parts forming the mechanical assembly. To make a prototype, these aluminum alloy and ABS plastic parts each need to be CNC-milled, taking 2 weeks to make and costing around $3000 a set. To reduce the risk of doing revisions changes on the costly CNC-milled prototype, we decide to make a much cheaper 3D printed version first to check if we can spot any design issues before sending out to make costly CNC-milled prototype. Looking forward to see the 3D printed version later this week!
Layout for the needed PCB design is also finished today, sending out to manufacture tomorrow, expect to receive SMT made boards later next week.
Everything so far so good. We are striving to finish all the design next month, kick off crowdfunding campaign in September, and ship out in November; hoping our crowdfunding supporters can have ProView S3 in hand for the Christmas holidays, showing off stunning very high quality videos to relatives and friends.
